Michael has more than 25 years of software development experience spanning enterprise applications, distributed systems, data platforms, web and mobile products. Over that time he has worked as an engineer, architect and technical lead, taking products from first whiteboard sketch through to production systems that customers depend on every day. That breadth gives him a practical sense of how real organisations adopt technology — and what it takes for a new tool to actually fit into an existing workflow.

For the past five years Michael has specialised in cyber security and identity management, designing and building systems for authentication, identity proofing, access control and fraud prevention. He follows the cutting edge closely — from passwordless and biometric verification to the deepfake and synthetic-identity threats that are reshaping remote hiring — and brings that focus to Know-M's goal of making identity verification simple, secure and compliant for recruiters.

Nelson has spent more than 25 years developing software across a wide range of disciplines, including back-end services, cloud infrastructure, integrations, databases and user-facing applications. He has led engineering efforts end to end — architecture, delivery and operations — and has a long track record of turning complex requirements into reliable, maintainable products. His work has consistently centred on building systems that are robust under real-world load and easy for people to use.

Over the last five years Nelson has focused on cyber security and security-based technologies, with deep work in identity and access management, secure architecture, encryption and privacy-by-design. He is passionate about applying emerging technology responsibly, and at Know-M he leads the platform's security and verification architecture, ensuring every candidate check is protected, auditable and built on trusted providers.
